RESEARCH INTERESTS

  • Use of experimental and theoretical methods for site effects estimation, in order to apply the results in microzonation studies in urban areas.
  • Study of wave propagation. Application of one and two dimensional numerical methods to model and graphically represent the wave propagation in anelastic heterogeneous media.
  • Correlation of the estimated ground amplification (transfer function) at a site with the macroseismic intensities.

FIELD EXPERIENCE

  • Installation and monitoring of networks of analog and digital portable seismological stations deployed to study the seismotectonic properties and the evolution of seismic sequenies at various areas.
  • Geophysical field measurements for seismic and electrical prospecting, archaeometric studies and electrical tomography.

VISITS - INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIONS

  • Visits at Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra (DST) of University of Trieste (Italy) during the period 1996-1999.
  • Cooperation with the research group of Structure and Non-Linear Dynamics of Earth (SAND) of "The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (I.C.T.P.)" in Trieste, during the period 1996-1999.
