FIELD WORK EXPERIENCE

Several field experiments on Seismology and Applied Geophysics concerning seismotectonic studies, studies of earthquake sequences, geophysical prospecting using seismic methods (crosshole-downhole) electrical methods (Schlumberger, pole-dipole), and archaeometry.

Installation and monitoring of networks of analog and digital portable seismological stations deployed to study the seismotectonic properties and the evolution of seismic sequences.

Participate at the analysis of the recordings of the permanent telemetry network of the central Seismological Station of Thessaloniki for 7-day and weekly periods (In duty for the daily monitoring of the seismicity, earthquake location and magnitude estimation). Contact with the public, state and press. Daily routine check for the proper operation of the recording and digitizing system.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

a)Crustal and upper mantle structure (mainly tomographic) studies using surface waves b) Active crustal deformation studies. c) Seismotectonics of the broader area of Greece and studies of seismic sequences.

Member of many Greek and international seismological-geophysical unions (e.g. GEOT.E.E, EGE, EGU).
